Review:
Acrylic Teepees is David’s second studio album and was released in May 1996, a mere 5 years after his debut “Code Name: Jumper”. Munyon placed himself already in the category of the most exceptionally poetic American singer-songwriters walking on this planet. With Acrylic Teepees, David Munyon again proofs that he is in possession of great buoyancy. The tracks on Acrylic Teepees have a variety of pure county, rock and attractive country-folk songs. David still likes to write about experiences, places, people, guitars and cars. What do you thing about these statements “In the frond seat of a Volvo, Like a rusty Ford on a summer day, In the back of a Crysler or Drive a 1970 Corvette Stingray” These are some examples that consolidate David's passion for this subject. The song “Surfin” is a song for River Phoenix. My recommendation, when you listen to this song, read between the lines. With the title, “There Ain´t No Love In This Rock And Roll World”, David Munyon really hit the nail on the head. All tracks where written by the master himself and S.P. Standley (Dixie). This CD is well groomed and has a particular sphere. Perhaps David Munyon himself will deny it, but I think that he and his music is “Bigger Than A Dream”
